ConstructBuy, Quebec’s only collaborative, neutral and cross-organizational digital platform for the construction industry, is proud to announce a digitization partnership with the Association des Professionnels de la Construction et de l’Habitation du Québec (APCHQ-Association of Construction and Housing Professionals from Quebec) representing 19,000 corportate members.

ConstructBuy has been promoting the digital shift in the construction industry for more than 10 years now, and its entire team is aware of the industry’s digital lag and the challenges that this can cause for contractors to initiate a digital transformation. “That’s why, as part of this partnership, the ConstructBuy team didn’t hesitate to set up an exclusive promotion aimed at APCHQ members to encourage them to integrate digital tools into their habits,” says Steve Piche, president and product designer at ConstructBuy.

“First, to support contractors in their project management, all tools and services related to the ConstructBuy suite are reduced by 20% for active APCHQ members. Whether it’s to calculate takeoffs online, to estimate your projects costs or to use digital time sheets, they will be able to get the digital tool that suits them at a low cost. Also, all APCHQ members, if they wish, can obtain the BID tool free of charge for a full year in order to manage their invitations to tender more easily and efficiently or even collaborate directly with their partners by exchanging files or using centralized communications. Making the right tool available for the right task remains a priority for ConstructBuy to ensure the future of digitization in construction and to support contractors in their construction project management. It is therefore with a partner of choice like the APCHQ that this mission can be accomplished by offering accessible solutions to thousands of Quebec contractors.

As part of a process to support its members in the digital transformation of their businesses, the APCHQ undertook a consultation to determine the main issues of digital transformation in construction. At fall 2020, this approach was implemented by creating discussion groups bringing together several APCHQ members from different backgrounds. The conclusion that emerged was that project management is one of the main priorities for construction companies with 5 employees or less, which make up about 85% of the industry.

A search for digital tools suppliers was therefore undertaken until 20 were selected to push their analysis a little further and finally only 4 were selected for a presentation to the focus group participants, including ConstructBuy. Following these presentations, which took place at spring 2021, the results of the analysis confirmed that, according to the reality of certain contractors, ConstructBuy could meet their needs by facilitating their project management using digital tools. This partnership allows ConstructBuy to be integrated to the website since the summer of 2022, in the “Exclusive Offers and Discounts” section under the heading “Project Management”.

By offering its complete suite of varied, modular and accessible digital tools, ConstructBuy intends to support these contractors in their digitization to support the management of the various phases of their construction projects, such as planning, estimating, supplying and execution.
